express 6.0 spell check halted

New laptop (XP Home) spell check worked with Express 6.0
untill I loaded Office 97 Proffesional. Now spell check is
halted..."old" desktop with Win 98SE, Express 6 and same
Office 97 let spell check works. I guess I don't know why
express 6.0 & Office 97 works on desktop & not on Laptop.
As you can tell I need spell check with my typing skills.

Primarially added Office to get Word & Excell programs.

Anyone have a solution & fix?????

Try posting this in an Outlook Express group. I know that a number of
people have had problems with spellcheck and I think that an answer was
posted over there.

You can also search google.groups.com and use Spell checking as the search
term.

If you are referring to Outlook Express (OE), then please be aware that
spell-checking is not part of Windows platform, and OE relies on having
Office installed to provide the spell-checker.

OE6 (on WinXP) requires the new spellcheckers in Word/Office 2000 or later.
If Office 97 is installed then the backward compatibility file csapi3t1.dll
must be placed in the ...\Microsoft Shared\Proof folder.
