expression built in LAYOUT View in form but not showing up in repo

I made a form with some expressions, i.e. =[Close date]-[Certificate Date]
that will give me a number of days between. When I make a report and add
this field within the report the values do not show up. I see them in the
form and in the table but nothing in the report. What am I doing wrong???

Just use the same expression in the control source of a textbox on the report.
A calculated field on a Form isn't stored anywhere.
