Expression web, what's a good host??

Patrick

I have upgraded to expression web and tried hosting my site with yahoo.
Forms do not work with yahoo and their email is not good due to the fact that
you have to go through a yahoo mail account to check mail.

Has anyone has success with web expression and forms? If so, please tell me
what host you are using. I'd love it if microsoft had a preferred host list
for users with expression web. I just want a host that allows me to use
everything expression web has to offer!

Someone please help!

I agree with Chris. I've had excellent luck with CrystalTech over the last
couple years. I've also known people who have used Brinkster and liked them.
Both offer excellently priced packages focused on MS hosting with ASP.Net
and FP Server Extensions (though I haven't used the extensions on
CrystalTech or Brinkster in a while so I can't say to their level of FP
Server Extension support currently).

To use the .Net features including the EW forms and database features you
need ASP .NEt 2.0 on your server.

EW doesn't have an "easy" way to send an email from a form (but, for a
tutorial, visit www.jimcobooks.com to see how to write your own code to make
EW send an email from a web form).

EW also has backwards compatibility with the Frontpage form/web-bots; if
your host supports the server extensions, this shouldn't be a problem, just
publish by HTTP as normal.

Note for future reference, there's a dedicated Expression Web newsgroup:
microsoft.public.expression.webdesigner for users, experienced and newcomers
alike.

Webhost4life (http://www.webhost4life.com) is another good host for
FrontPage extensions, asp, php, asp.Net

Expression Web will work well with most hosts (within the feature sets
offered by the hosts) - there's just the odd few that are really
awkward.
