Richard S

I am using FrontPage 2003. Part of its program are Web Components. Two in
particular I use all the time. Photo Gallery and Hit Counter. I can't find
them any where in Expressions Web. Are they not part of the program? Do I
need a different version of Expressions to get these and the other Web
Compnents found in FrontPage 2003.

Thanks for your help.

Expression does not contain those components, and many others that were
found in FP 2003.

Hi Tom,

Thank you so much for the information. I am glad I downloaded the trail
version of Expressions Web and didn't give Mr. Gates any more of my money.

Thanks again...Richard.

...and, those that did not require extensions were removed because they were
not html compliant.

| Hello Richard.
|
| What Tom did not tell you was the WHYs that they are not there. Many of
the
| features in FrontPage required a component set on the web server known as
| the FrontPage Server Extensions. As of this time, MS is not planning on
| updating them, and many hosts are no longer supporting them. Without these
| components installed on the server, the features installed that needed
them
| (such as the hit counter) will not work.

I gave up using the FrontPage Photo Gallery for anything but simple things.

May I suggest Jalbum?

Sharepoint designer - does that have support for the FP components? Someone
mentioned here recently that it actually does allow you to insert the FP
server ext components in a web site.

Andrew: Yes, SPD still offers many of the web components.
