Extend again the Virtual Server (WSS) 2003

Woody

Hello,
I tried to "Extend and create a content database" (Step 15c in the Single
Computer Installation Guide) but I waited too long and I got the error
message : "The Virtuel Server failed because...timeout. Try again."
Nevertheless, the content database has been created and a lot of other
things, so that the system doesn't present the same options to start again
the Virtual Server extension.
How can I reinitialize the system ?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Woody,

Go back to the SharePoint Central Admininstration and under Virtual
Server Configuration, click Configure virtual server settings, does your
SharePoint web site display the version number or "Not Installed"?

What you can do in the meantime is click the name of the SharePoint web
site and under Virtual Server Management is click "Remove Windows
SharePoint Services from virtual server"

If you do not have any content in the SharePoint web site, then select
Remove and delete content database otherwise accept the default and
click OK.

Once you have removed WSS from the SharePoint web site, you can start
again from Central Administration and click "Extend or upgrade virtual
server" and start again.

Hope this helps...
Good Luck
