extending olap cube

I have a project code that gives me the information about the type of
project. an 80xxx the code means "projectA", 90xxx code means (thinks)
"projectB" etc. Then I have done a custom project field that, according to
the beginning of the code field , has a value "projectA", "projectB" etc.,
but this field cannot be a custom outline code so i cannot see it in the olap
dimensions...
Looking for information on extending the olap cube I have found how to add
task fields, but it do not know if it is possible to add a custom field of
project.
can anybody help me??
