Extension failed to intialize

When I open Outlook it says " Extension failed to intialize. Can't open file: Extend.dat .....You don't have permission....

Close Outlook, find and rename extend.dat to .old and reopen Outlook. You
may have to go into Add-in Manager and uncheck add-ins until the message
stops if that does not work.

account will be deleted without reading.

I changed it from extend.dat to old.dat . Then another pop up "Unable to open your email default folders. File access denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file C:\Documents and Settings\owner\local settings\application data\ microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst

This all began because I exported the saved pst file I saved to back up my Outlook files.

Try creating a new profile here: Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles.
Also, please post your version of Outlook.

My version is MS Outlook 2002.

It seems that I am denied permission at every turn. I say this because I created a new Profile but it now won't let me Import the file I saved that is curent.
