External access to ProjectServer

Hi.

I have configured ProjectServer completely and it works fine in LAN. Now I
must configure it to be accessible externally. Some users must log on to the
ProjectServer externally outside the LAN (with their own connection, e.g.:
dial-up)

Thanks.

Emil,

Need a little more information. What version? Do you mean allowing
PWA users to connect? If so, that's pretty easy. Project
Professional? That's a little more difficult.

Yes, Mark,

We have both team members connecting through IE (PWA) and Project Managers
and Executives connecting through Project Professional. If possible, help me
with these issues.

Thanks.

Mark, forgot to mention the version. Both Project Pro and Project Server are
2003 version.

Hi Emil,

The recommended approach is to host it over Citrix. This will avoid
having to purchase bandwidth to the scale of 10 Mbps. The Citrix
server can host both Project Professional and IE (will help if it is
preconfigured to connect to your PWA home page). The Project
Professional user will need to configure the enterprise settings when
he logs on.

The Project Server and the Citrix server should be on the same domain.
The Citrix server will have to be published on the internet (for
internet access). The interface should be a login page where the user
should enter the domain credentials and should be directed to the page
from where he can access Project Professional and IE. For this to
happen, the user will have to download a Citrix client that
authenticates that he is valid user.

Let me know if this works for you.

Regards,
Sharat
