External dbII file

Hi,

i have an external dbase file 01employ.dbf (dbIII)

I want to link to it (i dont want to import).
I also want to create an index from access.
There are no index (no .ndx file) created and i want
to create it myself.
Then i want to perform a seek on the recordset.
Is that possible?

Regards
Pierre

Yes,

In access use File | Get External Data | Link. As long as Access recognizes
the original application that created the dbf, you should not have any
problems.

Using Link will keep the dbf in its original format where it can still be
opened by the original program that produced it.
Once it is linked into Access, you should be able to create an Access index
in the design mode of the table.
