Hi,

I have one file 1.xls with a named range of cells.
The name of the range is AAA, and contains 3 cells.
I have another file 2.xls with a graph.
In the sourcedata field of the graph, I type: '1.xls'!AAA
The graph displays the data in 1.xls correctly.

Now the problem:
I make a new 1.xls file, with a range of 5 cells, again named AAA, and
possibly on a different location in the sheet. When I now open 2.xls, I
would like to see a graph with 5 elements, but the graph still has 3
elements, using the original 3 cells in 1.xls.
I see that the sourcedata field of the graph immediately changes to
='1.xls'!$A$1:$A$3 after I enter '1.xls'!AAA.

Question:
What should I do the have 2.xls lookup the name AAA in 1.xls each time it is
opened, and not just once after I type it?

BTW, I am using Excel 97.
TIA, Henk

I can't reproduce this error with XY plots. What type of graph are you using?
