External table is not in the expected format

After I upgraded Windows 98 to windows 2000 professional,
I can not import or open dBase III files in Access 2002. I
receive the following error message "External table is not
in the expected format" when I try to open a dBase III
file. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks, cha.
