Extra 8 Line Window with a Line and a Plus and a Minus

What is it? While working in MS Excel 2010 for some reason an extra
window is displayed. The window is 8 rows long, has a long line with a
+ on one end and a - on the other end. The window does not repspond to
a right click. It is silver. There is no way to close it. What the
heck is it? How do I get rid of it?

I think it was a data window. I coppied the contents, moved and delted
the old sheet.
