extra line feeds under end-note delimiter in Word

For unknown reasons I have 7 extra lines under the end note delimiter
at the end of the document. The extra lines are there for each new
page. I am note able to delete these lines. I have removed the
delimiter but it does not help. Any tips are wellcome.

Press the ¶ button on the Standard toolbar to show nonprinting marks.
Switch to Normal view. On the View menu, click Footnotes. In the
Endnote pane, click the "Endnote separator" and delete any excess
paragraph marks (¶) found. Repeat this for the "Endnote continuation
separator."

Also make sure that no Spacing Before or After is applied (look in
Format | Paragraph, Indents and Spacing tab) to the remaining empty
paragraph of the endnote separator (endnote continuation separator).

Thanks a lot.

It worked. I had tried to remove only the delimiter and did not see the
linefeed marks, but this time I pressed the delete button a couple
oftimes and the lines disappeared. I do not know how they got there.

You are welcome.

I don't know how empty paragraphs get inserted into the separator
(and I suspect that nobody knows).

Anyway, the empty paragraphs do prove that it is a good idea to
sometimes display nonprinting marks. :)
