Extra quotation marks when converting to delimited text file

I want to convert a worksheet into a tab-delimited text
file so I can import it into another program. I've
usually been able to do this without a problem. However,
when I have a cell with numbers and quotation marks in it
(i.e. 5'-0") I get extra quotation marks in the text file
after I save it.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Using Excel 2000.

When you do the save as and you choose a text file
somewhere in the options they offer you a choice on what
the text delimiter is. Change it from " to nothing or
something else.

I'm already saving as a tab-delimited text file, and the
only options I can find when I save-as are Web Options and
backup options under the Tools button. Everything works
fine except for the cells with " which I'm using as an
inch symbol.

Thanks for the attempt.

I've just discovered that any cell with numbers in it
causes this problem. I've got cells with lists of numbers
(i.e. 1, 5, 12) and these get quotes around them too.

Anyone run into this before?
