Extra Writing Space

Before meetings I always type bulleted lists, and then use "Extra Writing
Space" to fill inn handwritten notes between the lines.

BUT - with ON 2007 the EWS jumps from rule line to rule line, meaning that
it is not possible to make space between the default ON textsize, which
makes 2 textlines for each rule line.

Is this change done for a reason!?!?

While you are using the EWS tool what happens if you hold down the ALT key?

Does that work better for you, it will not jump to the rule lines.

I have passed on your feedback though.

YES - works!

BUT, how to use the ALT-key when in tablet-mode, and wanting this to happen?

To me it seems more natural that this function is related to the actual
typed text lines, and not the rule lines, which has no function besides
making it easier to write.

Thanks for your reply, regards, Henrik

I believe we made this change so the behaviours are switched. When you
don't hold ALT it will not snap and when you do hold ALT it will snap.

So that should help you out. Thanks for the feedback!

I believe we made this change so the behaviours are switched. When you
don't hold ALT it will not snap and when you do hold ALT it will snap.

It still begs the question of what Tablet PC users are to do when in
tablet mode. Perhaps you could make the EWS toolbar button sensitive to
double taps. A single-tap would add space without snapping to the grid
and a double-tap would add space in grid spaced increments.

You have to remember you are writing programs for an entirely different
user envirenment where keyboards aren't always going to be available.

Yes we have this in mind. We are just switching the behaviour back to how
it was in OneNote 2003.

Daniel Escapa [MS] shared these words of wisdom:
Yes we have this in mind. We are just switching the behaviour
back to how it was in OneNote 2003.

Why only swiching *back*?
Why not making a move *forward* and add something like Grant has
suggested?
