extract attributes of a formatted paragraph

Mary

I am trying to convert a formatted paragraph to a text document. I
want to substitute blank spaces for tabs, numbers for bullited
sequential incrementing numbers, spaces for indents, etc. How do I
identify the coding? I am trying to send the formatted document to
Autocad.

Hi Mary,

Before you invest a lot of time into programming:
Have you checked out saving as "Text with layout (*.ans)"?

As an export filter, it does quite a sophisticated job in most cases.

I hope you'll have the filter installed, or available for install on your
CD?
Quite a few of the export/import filters have been removed lately because of
security concerns.

I don't see "Text with layout" in the 2003 Office Converter Pack
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/tools/BoxA07.htm
(... think I may have gotten it from the converter pack for Office 2000).

Greetings,
Klaus
