Extract Bitmap from inlineshape object

I want to programatically extract the picture from an inlineshape and store
the resulting bitmap in a file. Is there anyway to do this? Pictures are
not OLE objects -- if so, this would be easy. I've been looking for a
solution on-and-off for days and still have nothing...

I am aware of the "Save As HTML" solution; however, it does not meet my needs.

Any particular reason the 'Save as web page' option is unsuitable?
