Extract number from cell formula?

A cell formula is "=A1-1234.5". Is there a formula I can use in
another cell to extract the "1234.5" from the formula?

If the formula "=A1-1234.5" is in B1, wouldn't putting "=A1-B1" in C1
give you the result you are looking for?

=A2+A1

perhaps?
