extracting data from a repeating table in InfoPath 2007

M

Michael @ Unum

I am relatively new to InfoPath, but have created a form that includes a
repeating table. The form has been in use now and I have 100s of instances.
I would like now to be able to do some data mining against the forms. All of
the relevant data on the form is available in a SharePoint view I have except
for the table.

Question: How can I view and/or extract this data from the 100s of completed
forms I have? I am no programmer so writing code is not really an option
(unless someone wants to give me some :) ). I was hoping there would be a
way in SharePoint to view the table fields in a reasonable manner or to
extract the data to Excel.

Thanks for any and all suggestions

Hi,

You can submit the data to sharepoint list using below link.
http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2007/03/26/submitting-to-a-sharepoint-list.aspx

Otherwise create one new view in the form, and copy repeating table from
main view and paste it in the new view. Enter your data in Main view and
switch to new view, and
1. click on File---> Export to -->Microsoft Office Excel.
2. Click on Next button.
3. Select third option "Only from data from the Current View, including this
table or list".
4. Click on Finish.

I hope this will help you.

Hi,
Try this once. Add the repeating table fields to the promoted properties
list and publish the form to sharepoint. Now relink all the forms by
following below steps.
1.Go to sharepoint library.
2.Click on relink documents in the View of the right side corner.
3.Check the relink check box. And Click on relink selected documents.

One more option is create one view only for Repeating section and relink
forms after creating the view. You need to select Merge option while
promoting repeating field.
You have export to excel option in the sharepoint library. Then you can
export the repeating data to Excel.
