Extracting messages from PST to EML files

Hello,

I have some old backed up PST files. I now have a machine with OE but NOT
OL. How do I extract the mails inside the PST into EML format?

You can't - you have to have Outlook installed to open the .pst file and then you can export the messages to OE.

Outlook - File -> Import and Export
does not have an option to export to OE or EML format. I can only see export
to Excel, Access and other such formats which are not directly relevant for a
mail.

Your detailed help would be appreciated.

1. import .pst to Outlook
2. install Mozilla Thunderbird
3. install import/export add-on for Thunderbird
4. import emails from Outlook to Thunderbird
5. export emails from Thunderbird to .eml using import/export add-on.

Bzzt. Wrong, but thanks for playing.

5. export emails from Thunderbird to .eml using import/export add-on.

Wouldn't it be easier to employ OE or WIndows Mail, since every PC already
has then installed and you don't have to fiddle with anything extra?
