Extracting numbered lists in Word as data

Hi,

This may have been discussed before but I can't find any references.

I have a large number of Word 2000 files, each containing a numbered
list (not tables). I would like to extract from each file only the
data within the numbered list, each number being a separate record.
The output format isn't important (csv would do or export to Excel or
Access) and I don't need to preserve any document formatting. Minimal
manual intervention is preferred (batch processing would be great!).

Any suggestions?
