Extracting XML document in InfoPath 2007

I would like to know how an XML document can be extracted or imported in
InfoPath 2007. When I use the formdesigner wizard (XML -Schema) to import an
XML document it replies following:
- The file is not an legal XML document
- The system cannot locate the object specified
- Error processing source UML_EA.dtd
or Line 2 , position 35 <! DOCTYPE XMI SYSTEM "UML_EA.dtd">

Hello,

Can you follow the below steps.
1. Open form in design mode.
2. Select Tools à Resource Files.
3. Click on add button and select your xml file.
4. Select your xml file in ‘Add File’ window.
5. Click on OK two times.

Hello,

Do you want to add xml file or data connection to that xsn? Adding xml file
in resource file just follow the above steps or If you want to add the data
connection then Tools -> Data Connection -> Add xml document file to that
connection.
What is the error you are getting while adding the file? Can you give more
detail on it.

Hi Shiva,

I will be glad to give you some more details. In general I'm looking for a
tool fi InfoPath where we can do following steps:
1. Specification, modelling and exporting of case contents of the model in
XMI (XML Metadata Interchange)
2. Generate (realize) XML forms (XML -schema) from that.
3. Import that in InfoPath.
So in fact the road to show the model is: UML->XMI ->XML->InfoPath.

More specific when adding the file the error which is reported below most
probably indicates an error in the XML file which can not be handled by
InfoPath. But I'm not sure.

When I use Tools->Data Connection->Add XML file I see a blank screen in
InfoPath
Nothing happens (no error reporting or what so ever)

I can open the file however with Word 2007 where you can find the elements
of the XML document file structure.

Maybe you can help me further.

-> XML -> InfoPath. In fact I’m looking for a way where I can specify,
model and export the case contents of the XMI model. If that can be imported
in InfoPath it would be a very nice tool to show. It would be even more
interesting if XMI forms can be directly imported into InfoPath.
To answer your question:

that the file contents have errors but I’m not sure.
2. In case of Tools -> Data Connection -> Add xml document file nothing
happens. A blank screen (in design mode)
