EXTREME Column and Table frustration

R

rmwebb

Here's my situation:

1) Created a Legal sized landscape document
2) Created columns (so far, so good)
3) Created 2 column table on the left side.
4) Began putting information in the table.

PROBLEM:
5) As the table filled up, it magically copied itself onto the second
column. By copy, I don't mean copy and paste, but rather it appeared
in duplicate on the second column. When I click and highlight on that
side with the 'duplicated' info, it highlights the left column 'real'
version of the info. I CANNOT see anything on the right side beyond
this duplicated info. I CANNOT edit either.

Please help. I build hundreds of music programs using this method, and
it has been a consistent problem. I am at my wits end, and it has
forced me to create a hatred of Word (and Microsoft) that is
unyielding and probably from the lake of fire itself.

:)

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan:

We need a bit more information before we can begin to figure out what this
may be.

Specifically, I need the Version and Patch Level of your Operating System,
the Version and Patch Level of Word, and the Make, Version and Level of your
graphics card drive.

If you don't want to do all that, how about you wmail me a sample document
and I'll take a look? Please add the password "5g2000hsb" to the Subject of
your email so it makes it through my Spam and Virus filters.

Cheers

Hello,
further more to what John has suggested. Recently I get that idea to
make a planner - in Word, I was also playing with tables and columns.
At the end I found the easies way in my workflow how to align and
handle tables is to make text box and put table into there, other
option could be to make table (with invisible borders) and put your
table into it, however, I'm not much fan of the latter approach. Note
that I was playing with PC word, but should be the same.
But still, this doesn't explain that strange behavior you have
described.

Hi LC:

Yes, I agree. That's why I've asked Ryan to email me a copy of the
document. I don't think he has a TABLE in there at all. I "suspect" he has
somehow created a set of Linked Text Boxes.

Either than, or his graphics driver is playing tricks on him.

I need a look at the document, and I need the other information I asked for,
before I can be sure.

Cheers
