This question doesn't pertain to a recent version of Word, but rather
(start screaming now) Microsoft Word 4.0C for Macintosh System 7.
No, I don't actually use this version. (I'm not THAT insane.) And I
know that many others on this newsgroup have probably never used it, or
at least haven't since the early 90's, but still, this functionality
may be universal.
Anyway, here goes.
I'm planning on selling an ancient Macintosh SE/30 that I have (I
figure, with all the software and hardware, I could get maybe $50,
which would be fantastic to me), but I want to make sure that I'm not
selling anything that contains personal information. Specifically, the
Registered User name that pops up when Word or Excel starts.
Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the registered user name? I was
going to try reinstalling the software, but this is from back in the
days before Installers (when files were just copied from the
factory-shipped disk to the hard drive,) so the registered name also
appears on the Install disk.
