Extremely slow application start when using Office XP Shortcut bar

After upgrading our PC's to the latest version of SP and
Critical updates our W2K PC's behave strangely. When using
the Office XP shortcut bar, each application (not only the
office application) listed is opening with a lag of 1
minute after clicking the icon. Accessing the same
application via the Start menu performs without lag. This
problem does not occur on our WinXP Pro PC's.

Any idea?
