Extremely slow processing

B1 thru B830000 contain numeric data.

C1 contains =B1/100

I have copied that formula and pasted it into C1 through C830000

I have copied C1 thru C830000

When I do Paste Special/Value in C1 through C830000, it takes a VERY
long time to complete this operation.

What can I do to speed up this process?

Do you have other formulae, pivot tables, or charts that are dependent
on the calculations in column C?


If so, your workbook may be trying to calculate as it pastes. I suggest
(very briefly) changing the calculationmode to manual by pressing [alt +
t + o], choosing "Formulas" and then changing the workbook calculation
to manual. Copy & paste special column C and then go back to Options
via [alt + t + o], choosing "Formulas" and then changing the workbook
calculation back to Automatic.
I recommend changing the calculation back to Automatic straight away,
because if you forget about it, you may end up working with
uncalculated/incorrect data.
