F turned into S

Hello,
I am using the new Word for Mac 2008 and experiencing a problem I have seen in prior versions and on other computers.
I selected some text on the first page to bold, underline, small caps, center, and enlarge to 14 pt Times New Roman.
For some reason, Word turns the capital F into a capital S. If I change it to a lower case f, it stays an f. But the second I try to make it a capital F, it reverts to capital S. Any ideas?

Sounds like an old or damaged font.

First, shut the machine down to power-off, then re-start. That will force a
rebuild of the font caches.

Now: check that the version of Times New Roman on your computer is at or
above Version 3.05.

You may have to change the font for the entire document, then change it back
again, to get the new version to stick.

Hope this helps
