I have a large number of 2000 Word doc files from floppies
that were bakups from the machine that crashed. They have
been copied to the new machine on drive C:
When I open an existing file, oldcompany.doc (Windows 2000
saved as a .doc file) it opens in WORD-XP as Document1
containing the text from oldcompany.doc but has lost the
file name.
I "saved as" the file "document1" giving it a new name test.doc
It saved to the disc as test.doc and it is in the directory
as test.doc
When I open test.doc
It again opened as Document1
(does not matter if it is double clicked from directory or
opened from Word)
If I save as an RTF file it saves ok, But opens as a document1
This is a brand spanking new machine, it came with XP and
Word oem installed.
