F6 changed in 2007

Hi Groupies

Does anybody know what is up with the F6 button in table design mode? It
used to be that you could move between the field names and the field
properties by using the F6 button. You can still go down to the field
properties but if you hit F6 again, you go to the Navigation Pane, then the
toolbars, then you activate button accessibility, finally you get back to
the fields.

Shift, Ctrl and Alt do not help.

Has anybody figured this out? It's extremely annoying.

Annoying and, in my case, embarressing. I'm teaching A07 at the local
community college and tell the students to press F6 to change the text
length. Then I tell them to press F6 to get back up to the description.
That's when I found out F6 changed in 2007 - right in front of 20 people.

Never Fails! Those are the occasions where I say, "Sorry, wrong version" or
"Another thing Microsoft changed without consulting me!!"

It must have been an oversight because I can't see the justification in
making this change. Although, there was the decision to replace "Centre
across selection" with "Merge and Centre", in Excel a few versions ago.
Another bone of contention to add to my list.

F6 did change in Access 2007. It now behaves by design as you have described
below.

I found information on keyboard shortcut changes for Word, Excel and
PowerPoint, in the Help and Support centre here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928466/en-us?lc=4105

It does not mention that these changes also affect Access, so I sent them
some feedback.

If anybody knows anything else, please feel free to share your knowledge.

"By Design".....Well in my personal opinion, that design is "Most
Unfortunate".

Can you share any insight as to why the design change? Because, really, it
has substantially decreased the efficiency of how I work.

By design? Cripes, I've been using F6 for, likely more than a decade
now.
