Fade Animation in 2003 Show Not Working in 2003 Player

I just created a show in 2003 which will play as a loop on a big monitor at a
trade show. It's a very simple show - all the animations are Fades. So are
the transitions.

Works fine in my PP '03 but when I make it a show and send it to a coworker
who has the 2003 player, the fades go away and just flash very quickly. The
transition timing works, the audio works, but the fade is ultra fast or has
switched to the "appear" animation.

Any suggestions?

I can't think of what would cause this. Except maybe if the Viewer is
actually the PPT 97 Viewer?
