Faded screen text

The screen text in the help screen for Microsoft Office 2002 applications
(Word, Access, Excel and Outlook) is faded along with instructional text on
the the screen I am now typing on (the Subject, Message and the pop-up window
for "About display names" is fine). I have reset screen resolution; Internet
Properties / General / colors and fonts; screen color, brightness and
contrast without any change. Other programs such as AutoCad and Microsoft
Picture It Publishing have excellent quality. Running Windows XP with
Service Pack 2. Is there a fix for this?
