Failed connection to data source

Newbie question: I recently installed InfoPath 2007 on my XPS running
Windows XP. I was working through the Beginning InfoPath book from Wrox,
using the standard Northwind.mdb as a data source on a main folder on my
hard drive. I set up a simple form using the Customers table only. It
worked at first, pulling the data and allowing me to query by country or
whatever field I put in the query area. But now, some days later, I can't
get it to work. I start from scratch: Open InfoPath, goto "Design a form
template", click on the Database icon, click "OK", click on "Select
Database", navigate to where my copy of Northwind.mdb is stored, choose just
a few fields from the Customer table, and then set up the simple form with a
query field and the table results. Now, however, when I go to preview it
and query the list of customers from a given country, I get the following
error:

"InfoPath cannot connect to a data source."

So far I can't find a way to make it work. Over in the "Data Source" pane
on the right, I see both the list of queryFields and dataFields that I set
up. There does appear to be a little lock icon on the two folders, but I
haven't been able to figure out if there's some sort of lock on the data,
and if so, how to remove it. Thanks for any help. --John
