Failed OLAP cube scheduled build

P

Phil_M

I have received the following error message when trying to build an OLAP cube
in MS Project Server 2002:

The cube scheduled to be built on 04/04/2005 at 02:12 failed.
(-2147221384) Detected two sibling members with the same name: (Level 02).

Can anybody shed any light on what this error means.

Thanks

Hello Phil_M

code is as follows:

VFW_E_NO_CLOCK 0x80040213 Cannot lock for synchrnization because no clock
has been defined

Any ideas anyone...

Do you have any Outline codes or Outline code values defined with
non-alpha-numeric characters?

Hi Phil,

This issue is caused by having two values in an outline code that have the
same value. The level 02 indicates that the duplication occurs at Level 2 in
the offending outline code value.

To discover WHICH outline code is causing the error, got to the SQL Server,
run Analysis Manager and locate the cube name for your OLAP cube. Then right
click on the cube name and select process database. This will attempt to
re-process the cube. However at some point it wil fail. When it does it
should tell you precisely which outline code it failed on.

Then you can Open the Enterprise Global and edit the offending outline code
value. Note, you should edit the value, not delete it. If you delete it
your cube won't build correctly again until all the projects in which that
original value had been set have been updated with a valid outline code
value !

One the Ent Global is updated, saved and you restart Microsoft Project, you
should open a project and save it, checking that the outline code values are
correct.

Once that is done you should be able to build your cube correctly.

Hope that helps !!
