failed reinstallation of Office 97 Professional edition

I have for years been running the CD rom of this program
(minimal installation).
when I went to reinstall there were lines missing at
reinstallation.
The installation failed. It appears that I must get back
the missing lines to succeed in this reinstall.

Is it possible to do this?
How may I do this?
