Failed to connect to the configuration database

Hello everyone,

Installing MS Project Server 2007 on separate box. Binaries are installed
as a front end web box and application server. I'm attempting to plug it
into my SharePoint server farm, but after installing the binaries and run
the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard, I get the following message:

"Failed to connect to the configuration database".

Have any of you seen this before? The account associated with the database
is found when running the config wizard, and I am typing the correct
password for the said account. I'm just not sure where you go from here.
