Failed to synchronize users in WSS subweb

Hi

I have installed a PS2003 with WSS (server farm), and all is working except
one thing: When creating subwebs for projects in WSS, the users aren't
synchronized. The subwebs are created, and I'm able to perform regular
actions if I login as the WSS admin.

I've installed the local language of both PS and WSS (danish), and I don't
know if it's this that's causing the problem.

When I try to synchronize the users of a subweb, I get the following error
(translated):
"Synchronizing the users between Project Server and the selected Windows
Sharepoint Service subweb failed"

If I browse (using the WSS admin login) to the subweb and click "synchronize
with project server", I get the following error:
"The server running Windows Sharepoint Service couldn't connect to Project
Server"

There is no proxy server running, and I've run proxycfg with this:
Flags = PROXY_TYPE_DIRECT | PROXY_TYPE_PROXY
Proxy Server = proxyserver
Bypass List = <local>

I get no errors in the Event log.

Can anyone help on this issues?
