I work at a University and have Outlook set up with an IMAP account. For the
last few days, I've been getting an error message upon starting the
application that states that the headers cannot be updated. The result of
this is that I cannot purge any of the mail in my Inbox that has been marked
as deleted.
I decided to MOVE (NOT copy) all the mail from the Inbox to the trash
folder. This resulted in ALL Inbox email being marked for deletion.
However, I was unable to purge any of it. I sent myself a test message and
that message was deleted and purged just fine. However, the rest just sat
there.
I then moved all the mail from the Trash back to the Inbox. This resulted
in no deleting mail showing up in the Inbox, but a bunch of deleted email in
the Trash folder. Same thing: I can't purge the deleted Items in the Trash
folder. Here's the kicker. When I log into the Campus Webmail, the Trash
folder is empty!
It seems as though this has something to do with the headers not updating.
I'd appreciate any help regarding this matter. THank you.
