Dear Sirs:
For the last 7 days, I have been denied access to my Outlook Express 5.0.6
for Macintosh OS 8.6 which I enjoyed from January, 2004 to October 30, 2004.
Ever since then, every single time I have tried to access it, I get the same
message:
AN
ERROR OCCURRED WHILE LAUNCHING.
THE
END OF FILE WAS REACHED.
I lost (perhaps forever) some very important e-mail because of this problem
and I wonder if I was "virused!"
Even when I TWICE downloaded this software and even when I installed the
Earthlink 5 Total Access (which includes Outlook Express 5.0.6) just
yesterday, November 7, 2004, I got the very same message shown herein.
I have not even been able to locate Troubleshooting for Outlook Express
5.0.6 anywhere on the Microsoft website nor even on Mactopia. I seem to have
been "stonewalled" and blown off at every single turn!
Since Microsoft no longer supports Outlook Express 5.0.6 for Mac OS 8.6 and
that Earthlink and Apple cannot offer any technical support either, you
Newsgroups people are the only ones I have left to turn to for help.
By the way, Microsoft even referred me to a "third-party technical support"
(probably fully owned and operated by Microsoft) and when I checked it out,
SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE! they charge $29.95 per each half-hour or a part
thereof for "consultation" with no guarantee whatsoever that any answers can
(or will) be found!
Can anybody in Newsgroups please help me restore my Outlook Express 5.0.6? I
would certainly be grateful to you, whoever you may be! Thank you very much.
