Failure to download a MSOffice Pro 2003 Powerpoint file? Ideas?

Hello.
I am a part time student at a local college, studying the CompTIA A plus
course.
I am attempting to download some MS Office Pro 2003 Powerpint files without
success.
I thought that Powerpoint may have lost some files when Norton Professional
Security 2004 informed me that I had been attacked by a virus but Noton had
destroyed the like but it may have destroyed a relevant file?
I do not know. I uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office Pro 2003, a complete
install but tried downloading again with the same negative result. Goes
through the motions but on Done, nothing is there. Please help/advise

Download from where? Do the files actually download and then won't open or
won't they download at all?

Hello Glenna,
Thanks for your speedy reply.
The downloads origninate on the College's own server at
http://virtual.ac.cornwall.uk
They show that the links are opening and downloading but when done is
described in the task bar...then there is nothing.
What is going on?
Have certain PowerPoint files been corrupted, because I uninstalled and
reinstalled the complete programme of MS Office Pro 2003....but still the
same response afterwards.
Hope this gives you some further ideas to help rectify this problem.
Yours
Nigel Miles
