Faking Footers

I'm making a general template for docs that will all have a header and a footer. Some are one page and some are multiple pages. I'd like to have just one header and one footer at the beginning and end of each doc NOT on each page. The header is done, but the footer is not always at the bottom of the page and I'd rather not do it manually for each doc. Any way of faking this effect?

Hi Slik

Although this isn't ideal unless you are used to working with your
paragraph markers visible, it does work. You can create a text box and
set it to appear at the bottom of the page.

Press return before you insert the text box, so that you add the text
box to the last paragraph marker. Add your text content and then
format the text box to have no line border so it looks like normal
footer text.

Set the vertical picture position in the advanced box to around 10½"
below the page (absolute position depends on your paper size).
Deselect all the other options.

Provided you never delete the paragraph marker that the text box is
attached to then the text box will move down your document as text is
inserted. When typing text into the document you should always ensure
you have one empty marker between your cursor and the end of the
document. If the last paragraph marker is deleted then the text box
will disappear.
