False (application hang) creation of Acrobat 8 from MS Office 2007

An update for Adobe 8 Standard 8.1.4 automatically installed on my machine
about one week ago. I created a Word document and tried to create a .pdf
from the document, it never created the .pdf and never showed an error
message. I've always been able to create .pdf documents from Excel, Word,
Access, PowerPoint and Outlook with this machine. I contacted Acrobat
technical support and they had me uninstall acrobat, clean the registry, and
reinstall the application. I've repeated this process many times and still
the issue exists. If I create a quick and simple .pdf from Word it is
successful, however, I need fully functional .pdf's. I try creating a .pdf
from Excel and the application hangs (not responding). When creating a .pdf
from Outlook there is no issue. I've checked the com addin for acrobat
within all the listed applications. Any suggestions?

Have you been sending the error reports to Microsoft?

Which Operating System are you using?
