False vertical borders around cell upon opening document.

OK, thiis seems like a memory condition of video driver, maybe. I have a 1/3
page table in a doc of 6 pages, about 2 pages total tables; it's 103k.
Created in 2003, viewed under Win XP SP2 at 24 bit color.

Upon opening the file, two vertical bars appear at the left and right sides
of just one cell about 4" wide. They disappear after a few seconds. Does
this sound like a memory issue? It's a dinky Dell, 500 mHz, 512 RAM.

Certainly it's something to do with the graphics driver. If you haven't done so
already, try installing the most recent (updated) driver and see if that makes a
difference. You could also try reducing the hardware acceleration for the
system.
