fatal error during installation

I am using Windows XP. After succesfully downloading OneNote trial version
*.exe file, and clicking on it, it begins to install, and then I get a
message saying "fatal error during installation". Any suggestions?

Do you have antivirus software running? Are you sure you succesfully
downloaded it?

I disconnected my antivirus detection as well as my firewall before clicking
the OneNote.exe file. The downloaded file worked well in another computer
running Windows 2000, so I assume the file is OK. I still get the fatal error
message.
