Fatal Error Installing Office 2003

This is my 2nd post regarding this issue: My 60 day trial version of Office
2003 expired March 31. I purchased the full version but on every attempt to
install received error message "Installation ended early because of error">
No other information was given. I contacted MS Online Service transactions
and they direted me to a link that addressed issues with download. I was
instructed to delete current trial version, install trial again and attempt
install of Office with my new product key. I am unable to install the <new>
trial version. It will begin extracting and after about 45 seconds will quit
with "Fatal error during installation" again, no further iformation. I am
running XP Home Edition V 2002 Service Pack 2 on a 1.73 GHz processor with
504 of RAM, 44.2 GB available memory,I am new to XP and have performed the
following in hopes of remedying this:
*did a repair of system (was unable to do a restore prior to this)
*downloaded windows install clean up utility and deleted all Office files;
*renamed Office file (tried to delete but would not let me);
* turned off all Anti virus and windows firewall;
*rebooted

I am still unable to install Office,
I hope someone can advise me further, I do not want to reinstall my system.
Thank you

Uninstall the Office trial completely. Get the Windows Installer Clean-up
Utility (available here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us)
Reboot if told.

Then try installing just your purchased version of Office.

thank you but I have downloaded the clean up installer (re below) and removed
Trial. I ws instructed to reinstall trial because I was only given Product
key and was to enter it on setup rather than the trial version key. I was
only provied product key...I am ssuming cd will be sent and will not be an
upgrade but full version? Time was important and I hoped to fix this sooner
than waiting for delivery. Thank you
