Fatal Error when trying to install Office 2003

I get an Fatal error when trying to install Office 2003 after
downloading the trial version. This give me an Office.exe file.

I have found the MS article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830422 that
seems to apply but how can I apply the fix? Even if I run Office.exe to
just move the files to a folder there isn't any *.xml file in the
source?
Is this because it's the Trial version? This also refers to have had
project installed prior but since this isn't my system I don't know if
this was done.

Thanks for all help! W2K is the OS with SP4 installed

Never mind. Regedit took care of this. The article content was enough
to fix this.
