What can I do when trying to open a word attachment in
Netscape Email keep getting Fatal execption OD occurred at
0028-C9991672 in VXD VMM (01) + 00001672 and the current
application will be terminated. It freezes the computer
and when you try to ctrl/alt/delete and end task or shut
down the system freezes and you have to shut down manually
and restart. This is a windows 95 Acer system and the
document is trying to open in word 97? Any suggestions or
fixes?

Thanks,
Pat

If u r a US citizen, write to your gov dudes (some JUSTICE DEPT
THOUGHT POLICE THING) and say "MS SHIT ME"

They will probably acknowledge the fundamental problem of posting an
unrelated problem to an unresolved populace in confusion.

How come you always seem to mangle up the threads in this newsgroup? Is
it you, your news client or some anarchistic tendency? Or do I perm any
two from three here?

By the way, does Pat's problem occur when opening the document in IE6?

G'day (e-mail address removed) (Malcolm Smith),

Hmmm. If I am the Steve in the completely unquoted message below, I
use Forte Agent as my news reader. It is demonstrably better at
getting all messages and my threads never fall apart from my postings.
I suggest its that lousy outlook express most people have a habit of
using, being unable to correctly resolve thread links.

Then again, maybe someone could be bothered reading the headers and
working it fer sure :) I will hunt through my settings for something
more friendly if it exists.

Hi Malcolm,
Steve

Usually, I don't see Steve's responses anywhere except "in thread".
But the last couple of weeks everything has been a bit topsy-turvey
due to the servers being blocked from all the virus/wurm/spam mail.
For example, in this instance, I don't see anything before your
message asking this question...

so I imagine that the fault lies, ultimately, with the prepetrators of
SWEN :) And more directly with how the news servers are handling
posts.
