Fatal Exception error

Recently I have been having problems opening WORD2000. I
am running Window98. When I try opening the program,
everything freezes up. Eventually either a "WARNING SYSTEM
RESOURCES ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW" message will appear
prompting me to close different applications, or one of
the following: FATAL EX OE 017F:BFF9DFF, FATAL EX OD
17AF:00002BAE messages will appear. I haven't been able to
open the word program since this problem came up. Any
suggestion, or and answer to my problem would greatly be
appreciated.
