When I copied an excel workbook from WinME to WinXP I did not realize that
the macros and custom buttons etc would not operate. When I executed code to
move to one sheet to the other a runtime error occurred. Then when I tried a
custom commandbutton that would lunch the Windows Dialler so I could
automatically dial a number a message came up that the dialler could not be
opened. Only OK was available to clear this message. By clicking OK it did
not clear the error message. I was prevented from closing down excel or
windows in the normal way, even via Ctrl/Alt/Del. I was forced to reboot,
via the base unit. When I tried to open the excel file again it would not
open. Ctrl/Alt/Del was my only option and it worked this time, only instead
of showing one instance of the unresponsive file, there was two of the same
file on the task window. WindowsXP allows for reporting of faults, which I
did, and it gave me a link to upgrade to SR-1, which I installed. Yet the
problem still exists.
I have also tried deleting the workbook and reloading a previous copy, but
without success. Other workbook files on the computer open and operate as
normal, it is only this workbook is giving trouble.
I am at a loss as to what I should try next.
Anyone had a similar experience or know what I need to do?
Much appreciate if you can help.
