From time to time my Outlook crashes and all my Favorites folders simply
dissapear and are restored the standard options! Where is the info for the
favorites folder stored? Could I save a backup of my favorite config for
later restore?

Cheers,

MAB.

Yes, you can back them up. You didn't mention your Outlook version, so first
go to http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.asp for file locations for
Outlook 2003 and earlier, or click the link at the top of that page for
Outlook 2007 file locations.

Unfortunately there's nothing there regarding the Favorites Folders on
Outlook 2007.

Tks anyway!

They are stored in the navigation pane's *.xml file - keep a copy of it to
restore when outlook loses it. Also - make sure Outlook is not listed in
Task Manager, Processes tab a few minutes after you close it. The changes
aren't written to the XML until outlook closes and this is one cause for
losing the folders. If it is running, you'll need to figure out why it's
running. See http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.asp.

Tks!

In my folder C:\Users\Marcelo\Application Data\Microsoft\

There is no Outlook folder... Isn't here that the .xml file is supposed to
be? Also, searched the entire c: and the only .xml files I've got are for
Messenger...

Any help?

Cheers,

MAB.

It's a hidden folder, you won’t see it unless you are showing hidden files
and folders.
Try pasting this in the address bar of windows explorer or Start menu, Run:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I do have access to hidden files/folders, that's not the case. Anyway,
running the command below shows the same, that folder does not exist...
weird...

Cheers,

MAB.
