Fax and Office 2004

I use Entourage address book to keep track of contacts. In Windows
Office, you simply printed to fax (just like Mac). However, all your
Outlook address book/contacts were automatically linked to your fax
function.

With Office Mac, you print to PDF fax, a window pops up and you have to
type in a fax number. How primitive! If you click on the little
figure to the right, it brings up the OS Address Book program, but even
if you just fill in a few contacts that you fax to regularly, you can
not click on a name to automatically fill-in a fax number for you; the
window won't allow it! If you use a TextEdit document and do the same
thing, the OS Address book works as it should.

Does anyone have a workaround to this oddity?

If you use Paul B's scripts to sync entourage & Address book, all your fax
numbers will be available to use.

The fact that the Address Book for Faxes does not work in Office 2004 is a
known issue. There is some discussion of it on the Apple Knowledge Base.

When I do this [OS 10.4.1, Entourage 11.1.0], the document is sent to the
local printer, and never makes it to the modem. I first have to save the
document as a PDF, and then use Preview to get it pumped through the
land-line. Any way 'round this?
